From Six Sigma to Seven Knots: I’m Looking to Become a Marina Board Member
Looking to run for a spot on Piney Narrow’s Board of Directors to keep myself as busy as I was in the corporate world. Below I have the bio I put together for it. Now, the real question: should I go with the “I mean business” glasses look or the “I promise I’m fun” no-glasses vibe for the bio pic? Decisions, decisions…

Why I Am a Good Fit for the Marina Board:
I came to PNYH in 2024 and quickly fell in love with the staff and location, which led me to buy my slip. It’s the people—Joe, Kai, Eric, and their team—that make this marina special. Their dedication and expertise are key to its success, and I believe the board’s role should be to empower them, not create unnecessary roadblocks.
My combined experience in boating and corporate leadership makes me well-suited to contribute to the marina board. I understand the importance of safety, community, and strategic planning. More importantly, I bring enthusiasm, energy, and excitement to support the board and strengthen PNYH’s management team. The board should function as a team, not a hierarchy, working collaboratively to enhance the marina experience.
As we move forward, it’s crucial to recognize that Joe, Kai, Eric, and their team have the skills to increase slip demand and overall marina value. By empowering them to implement board-approved initiatives without interference, we can ensure PNYH thrives. My goal is to be a resource they can rely on to bring their vision to life.
Beyond just being a marina, PNYH has the potential to become a true destination—offering amenities like a pool, bikes, bars, and vibrant nightlife. With Kent Narrows growing in size and popularity, I look forward to contributing to the future success of PNYH. Exciting times are ahead, and I’m eager to be part of it.
Regards,
Capt. Ohana Dave
